The project was delivered under an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract led by the JKC Australia LNG (JKC) Joint Venture, comprising JGC Corporation, KBR, and Chiyoda Corporation. JKC managed scopes for engineering, procurement, and construction of the onshore LNG plant and associated infrastructure.
Project Overview
Qenos is Australia’s sole manufacturer of polyethylene, operating two main processing and manufacturing facilities, the Olefins and Resins plants, which process ethane into high-density polyethylene (HDPE), supplying materials for everyday products such as dairy bottles, water and gas pipes, and various packaging solutions.
Its Altona facilities underwent major expansion and upgrades increasing production capacity by 20% and securing essential feedstock contracts for long-term operations. The project scope included new process vessels, structural reinforcements, and a modernised electrical substation, aligning the facility with updated industry standards while improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
